OltreArte — a contemporary gallery that runs itself

OltreArte Galleria Contemporanea (OAGC) is a contemporary art gallery with a busy exhibition calendar: shows, institutional venues, fairs, catalogues. Web’nGO rebuilt the website around a content management system built for the way a gallery works.

The project

A website that looks after the works the way the gallery does in the room.

The previous website told the story of the gallery, but every update went through the supplier: a new exhibition, a work record, a catalogue — each one meant a technical request.

We rebuilt everything around a content management system that follows the way the gallery actually works: every exhibition, every artist and every work has its own record, linked to the others.

The exhibition calendar

Its own shows, institutional venues, fairs, catalogues and a body of artists and works that grows every season.

What the collector needs

For a gallery the website is not a catalogue, it is the tool a collector uses to decide whether to trust you.

The work

Four blocks of work, one single system.

The project was not a visual restyling: it was the construction of an editorial and commercial infrastructure that supports a growing exhibition calendar.

01

Content management system

Exhibitions, artists, works, catalogues and fairs, all linked to one another: you publish an exhibition and connect the artists and the works, without touching the code.

02

Online sale of artworks

Work records with images, technical details, availability and a purchase or enquiry flow, integrated with the gallery catalogue.

03

IT/EN bilingual version

An international version for collectors, curators and fairs: content managed once and published in two languages.

04

Records linked together

Every work is a record with images, details and availability status; every exhibition is a container with dates, venue, curator, press release and linked works; every artist has a profile with biography, exhibitions and publications.

Why it matters

A gallery sells authority: the website has to produce it.

When exhibitions, works and catalogues are managed in-house, the story stays alive: a show that has just opened is online the same day, a sold work changes status straight away, a press review becomes part of the artist’s journey. The gallery stops chasing the website and starts using it.

Do you have a body of content that needs to be manageable?

Exhibitions, works, catalogues, products, references: if updating them today takes a supplier, there is a system that gives you back your independence.
