MediCore ARM

An embedded platform for medical and scientific applications: ARM Linux boards, a C# .NET 8 core and .NET Avalonia interfaces. A project where the software has to work at all times, in devices where mistakes are not an option.

The platform

Reliability, precision and security in critical devices.

MediCore ARM is an advanced embedded platform built for the most demanding medical and scientific applications. It runs on ARM Linux boards and combines two deliberate choices: C# programming to maximise performance and stability, and the power of .NET Avalonia UI for modern, responsive user interfaces.

MediCore ARM: embedded platform on an ARM board with a .NET Avalonia interface

Where it works

Diagnostic instruments, monitoring equipment and applications in healthcare and research: settings where the device is part of the daily work of doctors, technicians and researchers.

What it has to guarantee

Continuous operation, predictable response times and protection of sensitive data. This is not software you update whenever it suits: it is the infrastructure the device relies on, for years.

The work

What is inside MediCore ARM.

The technical decisions that make the platform suitable for a medical device, from the board to the interface.

01

ARM-based hardware architecture

MediCore's ARM boards are designed to operate in medical and scientific environments: high energy efficiency, resilience and continuous reliability. They handle medical sensors, communication modules and laboratory devices — ECG, oxygen monitors and other diagnostic equipment — in compact hardware suited to portable or benchtop devices and to the certification clinical environments require.

02

Programming in C# .NET 8

The software core is written in C# and uses the ARM board's resources directly. It is a low-level approach that allows precise control over operations, very fast response times and optimal use of memory and computing power — with direct access to hardware to handle critical data in real time, such as vital signs or high-frequency scientific measurements.

03

User interface with .NET Avalonia

Avalonia is a cross-platform framework for rich, responsive interfaces: the same base can be adapted to different devices — Linux, Windows, Mac — reducing development costs and keeping the operation consistent. Interaction is also optimised for touch displays, in the clinic as well as in the lab.

04

Security and compliance for the medical sector

The platform is designed for international medical device regulations — ISO 13485, CE, FDA — with security protocols for sensitive data, end-to-end encryption and secure key management. The system monitors its own state and logs crucial events: traceability and fast diagnosis when it matters.

05

Agile development and ongoing support

Regular software updates with security and performance improvements, plus dedicated technical support. The annual development licence includes integrated hardware and software support, installation, extended support options and update packages built around the specific application.

Case history

Neuranix — Medwave: one device, one software infrastructure.

Web'nGO supported Neuranix in developing an innovative device, building a software infrastructure based on .NET 8 and Avalonia UI. This approach made it possible to deliver an advanced, high-performance technological solution, helping to improve the diagnostic experience and operational precision.

The project grew out of a demanding research and development context, where the software infrastructure determines how precise, stable and easy to use a device is for the people working with it every day.

The benefits

Why this combination works in a clinical setting.

Performance where it counts

The low-level approach with C# .NET 8 MVVM delivers the performance diagnostic applications need in terms of precision and speed. The platform talks to industrial boards — such as Variscite ARM and others — to find the best configuration for each scenario.

Flexible development

With .NET Avalonia, interfaces are customisable and adaptable: the user experience is built around how people actually work with the device, improving operational efficiency in clinical settings.

Reliability and security

Hardware and software are designed together, so that a medical device does not stop: continuous operation and data protection are part of the design, not an afterthought.

A single point of contact

Anyone developing a medical device finds board, system, application and interface with the same partner: fewer integrations to hold together and clear ownership of what the device has to do.
